How do I use parameters in BI?

Parameters allow you to create dynamic dashboards by passing user-defined values into queries, filters, calculations, and dashboard elements such as titles, captions, and URLs. Once a parameter is configured, users can modify its value during presentation mode to update the dashboard dynamically.

Set a Parameter in a Query

1. Open the Query Editor.
2. Click the icon on the right pane.
3. Drag and drop the desired parameter into the query editor.
4. Configure the parameter as required.

Set a Parameter in a Filter

1. Open the Filter pane and add a new filter condition.
2. Select the target identifier column.
3. Choose the desired comparison operator.
4. Click <?> and select the required parameter from the list.
5. Click OK to apply the filter.

Set a Parameter in a Title, Caption, or URL

1. Click the icon within a supported title, caption, or URL input field.
2. Drag and drop the desired parameter into the configuration box.
3. Click OK to apply the parameter.

To Modify a Parameter Value

1. In Presentation Mode, right-click anywhere on the page and select Modify Parameter Value.
2. Select the parameter you want to update.
3. Enter the new value and apply the changes.

The dashboard will automatically refresh based on the updated parameter value, enabling dynamic filtering, calculations, and other parameter-driven functionality.
