How secure is Navicat Cloud?
updated at
First of all, Navicat Cloud could not connect and access your databases. By which it means, it could only store your connection settings, queries, model files, and virtual group; your database passwords and data (e.g. tables, views, etc) will not be stored to Navicat Cloud.
Second, Navicat Cloud uses Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) for all online storages, which is also used by many companies including the U.S. government organizations and agencies to securely upload data. Amazon S3 provides a highly durable and secure cloud storage for data. Data are protected using Amazon S3 Server-Side Encryption with 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256). Your file is encrypted before saving it on disks in its data centers and will be decrypted when you access. Also, your selected files will be sent between Navicat and our cloud service over a secure channel using a 256-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption-- the standard for secure Internet network connections. And third, you can enable two-step verification to add an extra layer of protection to your Navicat Cloud account. It is an additional security feature that provides an advanced authentication solution for extra account security.
Last but not least, PremiumSoft will keep all synchronized files strictly confidential, and all employees are prohibited from viewing/accessing content of files you may store in your Navicat Cloud account. Learn more about Navicat privacy here.
