I tried to set a schedule but received this error "An error has occurred while attempting to set task account information.".

In the Scheduled Tasks function, if you run a task, and you had previously changed your account name, the task may not run. Also, when you create a task, you may receive the following error message:

"Task Scheduler

An error has occurred while attempting to set task account information.

0x80041310: Unable to establish existence of the account specified. Ensure the account name specified is valid."

To work around this problem, use either of the following workarounds:

  1. Rename the user account back to the original user name by using the User Accounts tool in Control Panel.
  2. Delete the user account from the User Accounts tool in Control Panel, and then create a new user account with the appropriate user name.
